Privacy Policy
Redline · Last updated 2 October 2026
This policy explains what Redline (the "plugin"), published by Auteur, collects when you use it inside ChatGPT, why, and what control you have.
What we collect and process
- The text and suggested edits ChatGPT sends for review. They are processed in memory and not stored.
- Word documents you attach. They are downloaded from ChatGPT, processed in memory and not stored.
- The redlined .docx files Redline creates for you, which are stored for 24 hours so you can download them.
ChatGPT sends us an anonymous user identifier with each request. We never receive your name, e-mail address or chat history. We store only a one-way hash of that identifier so your saved items stay yours. We do not ask for or accept passwords, payment details, government identifiers or health records.
Why
Only to perform the action you asked the plugin to do and to show you the result. We do not sell data, show ads, build advertising profiles, or use your content to train models.
Who receives it
- No one. Redline doesn't send your text or documents to any third party; processing happens on servers hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (infrastructure provider).
How long we keep it
Text and attached documents are never stored. Each generated .docx is kept for 24 hours behind an unguessable link, then deleted automatically. Server logs that may contain IP addresses are kept by our hosting provider for up to 7 days for security.
Your controls
- Nothing to delete for text reviews: nothing is stored. Generated files delete themselves after 24 hours.
- Anyone with a download link can open that file until it expires, so share links with care.
Children
The plugin is not directed at children under 13.
